Abstract

The low level of student engagement in Pancasila Education is often caused by the use of conventional and one-way learning methods. On the other hand, restrictions on the use of personal gadgets in the school environment require teachers to be more creative in bringing technology into the classroom. This study aims to describe the implementation of the digital game-based interactive learning medium, Educaplay, through the utilization of a Projector/Smartboard in building the student engagement of fifth-grade (V) students at SD Negeri 157 Palembang in Pancasila Education. The research method employed was qualitative descriptive. The subjects of this study were [28] students of class V at SD Negeri 157 Palembang. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews with the classroom teacher and students, and documentation in the form of activity photos and quiz scores. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicated that the classical application of Educaplay gamification using a Projector/Smartboard successfully created a dynamic, fun, and positively competitive classroom atmosphere. Student engagement showed a significant increase in behavioral (responsiveness), emotional (learning enthusiasm), and cognitive (understanding of Pancasila values) aspects. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Educaplay medium through a Projector/Smartboard is effective as an innovative solution to enhance student engagement amid the limitations of personal gadget access in elementary schools.
